A part of a computer in which data can be stored for future use is known as a computer storage device. A computer can store data temporarily or permanently. It is a collection of storage cells together with associated circuits needed to transfer information in and out of storage. There are two types of computer memory: main memory and secondary memory. RAM and ROM are termed as Main memory. Hard disk, floppy disk, pen drive, CD, etc. are termed as secondary storage. Computer memory stores binary information(1's and 0's) in groups of bits called words.
