Question:
Which of the following options is correct?
The sacrum articulates with the _____.
a. ilium
b. ilium and ischium
c. ischium
d. ischium and pubis
e. pubis
The Pelvic Girdle:
The pelvic girdle, or pelvis, is made up of three fused bones. The largest of these is the ilium, the large flared bone that is the most superior of the three. The ischium is a smaller L-shaped bone the drops downward from the posterior portion of the ilium, then curves anteriorly towards the front of the pelvis. The pubis is the most anterior of the three; the two pubis bones form the anterior arch of the pelvis.
