The Periodic Table:

All the matter in existence is made up of tiny building blocks called atoms. We classify these atoms as elements according to their atomic number, i.e. the number of protons found in their nucleus. Thus far, there are 118 different known elements in existence. All of these elements are organized by their atomic number in a simple chart for us to read called the periodic table.
