Organic Compound:
Organic chemistry is a branch of chemistry that specifically focuses on the structure, properties and reactivity of organic compounds. Such compounds are generally defined as those containing one or more carbon atoms participating in covalent bonding. These carbon atoms can bond to each other and to atoms from other elements. These other elements are relatively few in number. Examples include nitrogen, oxygen, sulfur and halogens. The number of elements is few, but there is a relatively wide variety of possible covalent bonding arrangements for the participating atoms.
