Pure Substances:
Pure substances are substances that are made of just one element or chemical compound. For example, hydrogen is a pure substance since it contains just hydrogen, which is one of the chemical elements.
MIxtures and Colloids:
- In chemistry, a mixture is a physical combination of two or more substances that do not combine chemically to form a new substance.
- Conversely, if two substances are mixed together and form a new substance the new substance they create is called a compound.
- A colloid is a specific type of mixture in which insoluble microscopic particles are dispersed and suspended throughout another substance and these types of mixtures are often temporary in nature.
