What is an endophyte?
Question:
What is an endophyte?
What is an endosymbiont?:
An endosymbiont is an organism that lives within other organisms. They can be found in the body or cells of their host and normally do not cause any harm, but both benefit from one another.
Answer and Explanation: 1
Endophytes tend to be fungi and bacteria that are found in plant cells. They live in intercellular spaces of the plant cell and they don't affect the plant in which they are found, in fact, in some cases they can help the plant grow. They can be transmitted to a plant through seeds propagation. There are many endophytic species, and can be classified as systemic and non-systemic. The first ones live all their life cycle in the plant cell and do not cause any harm to the host plant. The second group can be harmful for the plant.
