The Black Death was an international plague that devastated Europe and Asia during the mid-1300s. In five years, the plague would kill more than 20 million people in Europe. Symptoms included swollen glands (buboes), black spots on the skin, vomiting and fever. The plague was spread by flea bites, and without common hygiene practices during this time, it spread easily.
