What are whole numbers?

Question:

What are whole numbers?

Fractions

A fraction is a number written in the form {eq}\frac{x}{y} {/eq}. For example, if we have 3 slices of pizza, and we eat 1 of them, then we have eaten {eq}\frac{1}{3} {/eq} of the pizza we started with, or 1 slice out of 3. Fractions are not allowed in the whole number set, however, sometimes fractions can simplify to whole numbers. For example, if we have the fraction {eq}\frac{2}{2} {/eq}, we can simplify this fraction to 1. Since 1 is a whole number, this fraction does represent a whole number.
