Large Intestine:
The large intestine is composed of the canal of caecum, colon, rectum, and anus. The ileocaecal valve controls the entry of material from the last part of the small intestine called the ileum. It is about 1.5 meters long and has an average diameter of about 6 cm. The human appendix has no known feature and is thought to be a legacy of human evolution from a previous period.
