Question:
Predict the products for the following reaction, then balance and classify the reaction equation.
{eq}LiOH+Fe(NO_3)_3 \rightarrow {/eq}
Salt Compound Reaction:
Ionic (salt) compounds are present in the solid state as an arrangement of positively charged cations bonded to negatively charged anions. However if you introduce the solid compound to water, then it dissociates into an aqueous solution of its constituent ions. Therefore mixing two different salt compound solutions means that you have one large aqueous mixture of every constituent ion present. This allows new ion pairs to form, which themselves can be written with certain molecular formulas. Such reactions commonly lead to one or more of the products having poor solubility in water.
