In regards to chemical reactions, reactants refer to the substances/molecules that go into the reaction and products refer to the substances/molecules that are present at the end of the reaction. For example, lets look at the reaction that forms sodium chloride (i.e. table salt): 2Na + Cl2 = 2NaCl. The reactants of this chemical reaction are Na and Cl. The product of this reaction is NaCl.
