Pigment light:
Light energy starts photosynthetic activity when pigments absorb light. A limited spectrum of energy levels is absorbed by organic pigments. For an excited or quantum condition of orbital electron energies below red light are inadequate. Physically, the molecules will decay from greater energies than in bleach, a process known as bleaching. For example, only retinal pigments absorb 700 nm to 400 nm of light is apparent. For the same reasons plant physiologists utilise this region as a photo for plants, the plant pigment molecules only absorb light in the range of 700 Nm to 400 Nm.
