How are extrusive rocks formed?

Toothpaste and Volcanoes:

Have you ever squeezed a new tube of toothpaste and watched the snake like rope come out of the end. The process of squeezing the toothpaste out of the tube can be called extrusion. The toothpaste is coming out of the tube, therefore it is being extruded. When lava is coming out of a volcano it is often extruding out of the mouth of the volcano just like the toothpaste.
