Aldosterone

Aldosterone is a hormone released by the adrenal cortex, and is one of the major hormones at play in regulating the sodium/potassium balance in the body. When blood levels of potassium get to high, aldosterone causes the release of potassium into the urine, and returns sodium into the body in exchange.
