Describe the key principles of Systems Engineering. Explain what aspects of this framework are not desirable for businesses to apply when undertaking organizational analysis. Use examples to illustrate your answer.

System Engineering

System engineering is a multidisciplinary field of study which deals with the design and management of the system over their life cycle. It utilizes the knowledge of the various field of engineering and suggests an implementation part of this knowledge in problem-solving of the system.

Answer and Explanation:

Principle of an engineering system is as follows,

1) Product design should be aligned with the organization's requirements.

2) Mission identification:

System engineering has many applications on the organizational system, and mission identification is one of them. Every employee must have a clear understanding of the organization?s objective and goals, and each employee must have to find a way to contribute to that objective.

3) There will be a fast and systematic flow happen in the system specification.

4) System perspective:

In the decision-making process, a person must have to keep the perspective of the system in mind, and it should be aligned with the organizational objective.

5) Design for success:

When engineering a system. It becomes very important to design in such a way that it resists all the failure issues.

6) Life cycle planning: In the system engineering it is a very important task to determine the life cycle of the system and to increase the product's life cycle.

7) Perish the system, not the functional need.

From an organizational perspective, the principle of system engineering is useful and important because this principle can enhance the organization?s functional efficiency. But the last principle that listed above is not desirable for the business at all, because many times, the system needs revaluation and a fresh start in the organizational setup. If the system can be reengineered, than there would be no need to perish the system.

For example: Suppose a company is working on the new project and trying to innovate the smartphones by making foldable screens. To accomplish such a task the system engineering plays a crucial role in it. But in some cases, the task cannot be achieved, so what firm can do they use system engineering to alter the functional aspect of the system rather than perishing it, especially in an organizational setup.
