Nucleus

The nucleus is a membrane-bound organelle found in all eukaryotic cells. It contains DNA arranged in chromosomes and is involved in cellular activities such as protein synthesis, cell division, and growth and metabolism. It has a nuclear envelope which is a double membrane that separates its contents from the cytoplasm. The envelope also has pores that serve to regulate the entry and exit of substances within the nucleus. The nucleus also contains spherical bodies called nucleoli. These are the sites for ribosomal RNA synthesis and ribosome assembly.
