Skeletal Structure of Organic Compounds
In drawing the skeletal structure of a compound, four rules must be noted:
1) Each vertex and endpoint corresponds to a carbon atom.
2) Each line corresponds to a bond.
3) All missing bonds are attributed to hydrogen bonds.
4) All non-carbon and non-hydrogen atoms and the hydrogen atoms directly bonded to them must by explicitly drawn.
